Nostalgia is a fickle thing, it takes us back to a certain time of our lives we’ve already experienced. When it comes to movies, we look back at certain greats that make us remember the decades as glorious!
The 80’s introduced us to a genre of pop culture, music and striving actors, when we reflect back at the 80’s we instantly think of Madonna, Big Hair, Michael Jackson and Leg Warmers! 70’s was more like Star Wars and Farrah Fawcett. Each decade had its charm and own iconic stars! We are looking at iconic pictures of stars and commemorating the moments gone by – Dean Martin, Barbara Eden, Monty Python defined pop culture as we know today!
We can’t help but feeling a tad bit nostalgic today, look at the iconic greats below.
What describes ‘Au Naturel’ more than Candice Bergen, the picture dates back to 1968 when Candice started out as a model and then turned into a famous actor! She landed important roles in the 70’s, Western soldier blue and Burt Reynolds romantic comedy starting over.
As for television role, she starred on Murphy Brown and Boston Legal between 2005 and 2008.
We can imagine you would instantly start feeling nostalgic even if you read the name Faye Dunaway! The memorable actress got so appreciated for her role in Bonnie and Clyde in the 60’s, where she plays the infamous Bonnie Parker. She starred alongside Warren Beatty and the audience love their chemistry so much so that they tagged them as of the best on screen couples!
If you were born in the 70’s and you don’t Cybill Shepherd, you should probably leave the planet you’ve been living on. The young blonde in the photograph is Cybill Shepherd and she has done a lot of work in fashion as a model, actress and a singer.
She is best know to be a model and looking at the picture you can tell why!
One of the most iconic faces of the 60s was Kathrine Rose who is famously known for her portrayal of Elaine Robinson. Katharine Ross starred as a young Dustin Hoffman in the movie, Mrs Robinson. This picture of her by the beach was taken during the shoot!

If you call yourself an avid movie buff, you would have definitely watched Liv Tyler appear in a movie or two! Daughter of Steven Tyler and her gorgeous mother Bebe Buell – Liv was famous from the time she was born!

The man who changed the music scene forever, David Bowie is one if the most influential and monumental rock-stars of our time. He came on screen with a flamboyant personality and his bizarre yet catchy sound!

Barbara Eden in 1965
Barbara Eden began as a partly regular on The Johnny Carson Show in the 50’s. The actress has appeared in shows like ‘I Love Lucy’, ‘Highway Patrol’, ‘How To Marry a Millionaire’ and the ‘Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson’ to name a few.
She was widely famous for her role in the 1960s family comedy – ‘I dream of Jeannie’ where she played the character of Jeannie.
Henry Fonda, James Stewart and Shirley Jones
Pictured here are Shirley Jones, James Stewart and Henry Fonda – the iconic stars from a romantic comedy club called, ‘The Cheyenne Social Club’. Written by James Lee Barret, and directed/produced by Gene Kelly, the classic revolves around a cowboy who inherits a brother.
He of course tries to turn it into a boarding house and the ladies of the place as well as their clients aren’t pleased.

1970s Crochet Vests The 70’s fashion is unforgettable – how can we forget these gorgeous Crochet vests??? In fact the 70’s wardrobe seemed incomplete without them! During the 70’s we saw a lot of colored clothing that were popular on TV shows and movies, looking at this photograph makes us nostalgic toward that time! Crochet vests were a big hit.
The cast of Gilligan’s Island
Do y’all remember Gilligan’s Island? This iconic movie dates back to 1964 and the cast members are pictured here. The actors include Bob Denver, Natalie Schafer, Alan Hale Jr,Tina Louise, Jim Backus, Russell Johnson, and Dawn Wells.
The seven actors shot many adventures on the island after being shipwrecked! This popular comedy ran for 3 seasons, in 1964 and 1967. They do look damn good for a squad that’s shipwrecked.
Heather Locklear in the early 80’s
Successful movie actress Heather Locklear got her big break on the show, DYNASTY. She later became part of the iconic drama Melrose Place, and played the character of Amanda Woodward.
She went to perform roles in the comedy series Spin City and drama LAX – recently in the TLC drama, ‘Too Close To Home’. The actress was a worldwide actor thanks to her acting skills as well as her beauty, as you can see in this picture! She is absolutely gorgeous.
You guys should probably remember her as Dr. Evelyn Vogel in the last season of the crime drama, Dexter. Charlotte was a successful model in the 60s and managed to be a major fashion icon. She gained huge popularity on movies, The Damned, The Night Porter and mostly Woody Allen’s Stardust memories.
She also appeared in the 80s drama, The Verdict’ and mystery film ‘Angel Heart’.
More recently, she’s appeared in popular movies like Assassin’s Creed, and the Jennifer Lawrence starring thriller Red Sparrow.
Dickinson began her career in the early 1950’s and she got her breakthrough in ‘Man with the Gun’ and ‘Rio Bravo’, a role for which she also won the Golden Globe.
Over the six decades as an actress, Angie has acted in over 50 films and many many TV ROLES.
She was one of the top movie stars back in the day, and has taken part in films like Ocean’s 11 (both the 1960 and the 2001 versions), Point Blank, Pay it Forward, and Dressed to Kill.
Born in Austria, Hedy Lamar was not just a movie star, she was also an inventor. She went on to develop a radio based guidance system alongside composer George Antheil. Their invention during the World War 2 lead to the development of WiFi.
In 2014 she was a part of National Inventors Hall of Fame. The clever beauty was known for roles in movies like the classic Samson and Delilah, and the adventure drama Boom Town. Sadly, she passed away in 2000 of heart disease.
Jayne Mansfield and Lana Turner
Actress Jayne Mansfield was known to be the Queen as publicity stunts, she is pictured having a laugh with her friend Lana Turner back in the 1950s.
Turner was a popular actress and model, who worked in the industry for a good 50 years!
Lana was discovered at the Top Hat Malt Shop in Hollywood, and has since appeared in classic movies like Rich Man, Poor Girl, musical drama Ziegfeld Girl, and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Lana passed away from cancer in 1995.
As you all know Beatles changed the music scene forever, even when they were barely started out as musicians. They were a huge sensation since the beginning and when they booked only of their early gigs in Aldershot, Hampshire, only 18 people showed up!
It was the first gig Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison and Pete became a world wide sensation. You could already see how much fun the crowd was having grooving to their music, this was the very beginning of what was called, Beatlemania.
