Top chef KERRY SIMON has lost his battle with degenerative neurological disorder multiple system atrophy (MSA) at the age of 60.

The celebrity chef passed away on Friday (11Sep15) following a long battle with the condition.

Simon, who went public with his diagnosis in 2013, began his career as a personal chef in the 1980s and was hired by Donald Trump’s first wife, Ivana, to be the executive chef in the Plaza Hotel’s Edwardian Room in new York.

He went on to open Simon Kitchen & Bar at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas in 2002 and later founded several restaurants around the U.S., including Simon Prime in Atlantic City, New Jersey and Simon LA in California.

Simon was also a fixture on TV, appearing on reality shows Iron Chef and Hell’s Kitchen.
