Actor CHARLIE HUNNAM is still reeling from his tough decision to walk away from the movie adaptation of E.L. JAMES’ FIFTY SHADES OF GREY, confessing it was the “worst professional experience” of his life.

The British actor was handpicked to play Christian Grey in the erotic thriller but scheduling conflicts forced him to walk away from the role – and it appears he’s still wrestling with his decision.

The 35 year old says, “It was the worst professional experience of my life. It was the most emotionally destructive and difficult thing that I’ve ever had to deal with professionally. It was heartbreaking.

“I really, really pride myself on being a professional and a man of keeping my word. It means a lot to me, truly.”

The role was eventually offered to Irish actor Jamie Dornan and the film became a massive hit when it was released in February (15). Dornan and co-star Dakota Johnson are now working on a sequel.
